We can provide the following update on a number of areas:

Positions:


On Monday 26th January, at our AGM, the following positions were elected:
Chairman: Mark Smith
Secretary/Treasurer: Alan Breckin
1st XI Captain: Josh Scully
T20 Captain: Ali Hassan
2nd XI Captain: James Weston
Selection Committee: Captains & Alan Breckin
General Committee: Matt Metcalfe, Dave Bowen, Neil Smith, Dom Morris, Jordan Smith, Andrew Jackson

Since the AGM took place, we have also welcomed Paul Morris onto the selection committee, and Ben Parkinson to the general committee.

As per usual protocol, the role of 3rd XI captain is elected by the committee. We can confirm that Adam Smith will take the 3rd XI captaincy in a joint role, supported by Neil Smith.

We would like to thank our captains from 2025 - Dom Morris and Hamzah Hussain, and welcome Josh, Ali and Adam into the captaincy fold, as well as James on his step up from the 3rd XI captaincy to the 2nd XI.

Winter Nets

Senior indoor nets will commence for all senior players on Monday 16th February, between 8-10pm at PA Cricket. These sessions will run for 7 weeks. There will be polls added on a weekly basis to the playing WhatsApp chats to monitor attendance.

Junior training is underway, running 3-5pm on Sunday afternoons at Bury Grammar (U9s/U11s 3-4pm, U13s/U15s 4-5pm).

Note the following match night changes for our junior teams for 2026: U9s Sunday morning, U11s hardball Monday, U13s Wednesday, U15s Monday. All junior hardball games will now be played with a pink ball.

Golf Day

Our annual Golf Day will take place on Friday 22nd May at Pike Fold. Tee off is 1pm, with an entry fee of £240 per team of 4. Bacon butties will be served beforehand, with a 2 course meal afterwards. The competition will be a Texas Scramble, with nearest the pin prizes, as well as a quiz and raffle following the Golf.

Ladies Day
We can confirm that our ladies day will take place on Saturday 11th July, during our 1st XI home game with Adlington. Those who wish to reserve tickets should contact Nicky Morris.

North Wales Tour
Our annual tour to North Wales will take place between Monday 20th-Friday 24th July (note the additional day added). The full schedule will be announced shortly.
We are also in the process of organising our fixture with Rydal School.

Provisional Get Set Weekend 28th March
More details will be shared in the coming weeks, but we intend to host our Get Set Weekend on the weekend of 28th March. This is where we ask our members to spare some time to help prepare the ground for the new season.
