Bury Cricket Club is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated coach to lead our junior section. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and passionate coach to develop young cricketers and help shape the future of our club.
Role Overview:
We are looking for a committed individual to oversee coaching and player development across our junior teams. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality training sessions, fostering a positive and inclusive environment, and ensuring a clear pathway for junior players into senior cricket.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and co-ordinate structured coaching sessions for junior age groups.
- Mentor and support junior players, encouraging their development both on and off the field.
- Work closely with junior team managers and volunteer coaches to ensure a consistent coaching philosophy.
- Assist in team selection and match preparation.
- Promote the club's values of teamwork, sportsmanship, and player progression.
- Liaise with parents, club officials, and relevant cricketing bodies.
Essential Requirements:
- ECB Level 2 coaching qualification (or working towards it).
- Experience in coaching youth cricketers.
- A commitment to player development and inclusivity.
- Valid DBS check and safeguarding qualifications.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
Desirable:
- Previous experience in a Head Coach or lead coaching role.
- Knowledge of the local junior cricket structure.
This is a paid role, with remuneration dependent on experience and qualifications. Training sessions typically take place on weekday evenings with matches on weekends.
